ومما يدل على أهمية الأخلاق وفضلها، أنّها تمثّل الدين، وأنّها من الأعمال التي تثقل ميزان أعمال العبد، كما أنّ المتمثل بالأخلاق الحسنة من أحبّ الناس إلى الله تعالى، وأقربهم مجلساً من الأنبياء عليهم السلام، ودليل ذلك قول الرسول صلّى الله عليه وسلّم: (ما من شيءٍ يُوضَعُ في المِيزانِ أثْقلُ من حُسْنِ الخُلُقِ، وإنَّ صاحِبَ حُسنِ الخلُقِ ليَبلُغُ بهِ درَجةَ صاحِبِ الصَّومِ والصلاةِ)
